Catch method: Blue cod are unique to New Zealand waters and are most common in areas south of the Cook Strait and around the Chatham Islands. This species is generally caught by pots in these areas.

Taste: Tender and naturally sweet, blue cod are a perennial favourite with Kiwis. Steamed, baked, pan-fried or as fish and chips, they're a delicious and sustainable choice.

Sustainability: The blue cod fishery is managed under QMS, which is run by the New Zealand government.
