Mainly caught in winter (from April to September) around southern New Zealand and the Chatham Islands. They're also found in the Marlborough Sounds and Cook Strait
Blue cod has small, soft-yielding flakes. and a delicate sweet flavour. It's perfect baked or lightly pan-fried. Or try it smoked for extra flavour.
